Hello, dear friend.

Welcome to the Mary Hartmann Designs website. I am delighted to introduce my line of love-inspired jewelry, clothing and gift items, all bearing the elegant "Better Half" symbol. I would like you to know the background of this series so you too can fully embrace the love, romance and spiritual serenity the "Better Half" collection was designed to represent.

Several years ago when I was very much in love and planning my wedding, I was inspired by the biblical phrase, "And the two shall become one." I wanted to incorporate a symbol of this image into my wedding invitation, so I hired a designer to create the romantic visual of a man and a woman lovingly and passionately joined in a heart-shaped union. This is the image you saw as you entered this website and the image that is incorporated into the entire "Better Half" product line.

Throughout the years I have experienced deep love, passion and connection, as well as pain and disappointment in relationships. Yet, my commitment to this meaningful "Better Half" image has grown stronger and has inspired me to share it with the world.

I have grown and matured in my understanding of love and its prominence in my life, and I know that loving oneself is paramount to the honest expression of love for others, whether for God, family, dear friends, and most certainly for a chosen mate. By being whole, we can truly be a "Better Half" in our most important relationships.

I hope my jewelry and other products will bring years of inspiration and support to whoever chooses to use them personally, or to give them lovingly to another. Whether you select a gleaming sterling silver ring, a brilliant 14 k. gold pendant, or a luxurious bathrobe, you will have a high quality piece to treasure for a long time to come.

I want to thank my darling daughters Mariah and Madison for their continued support of my "Better Half" venture. And, I am grateful to musician David Young, who composed and produced the romantic love song that expresses the "Better Half" message through the soulful sounds of his voice and instrumentation.
